It is easier than ever in today's fast-paced world to get caught up in our hectic daily lives and forget about the little things that make life so wonderful. Following your passions is one of the most important things in life. When you find something that lights you up inside, it changes your perspective and shows you what’s possible for you when you chase after something that makes you feel that way. Traveling opens a lot of doors for us and broadens our horizons. It gives us a new perspective on life, exposes us to different cultures, and helps us discover new things about ourselves. If you have been wondering how to travel more or perhaps why not travel more, these travel tips will change the way you travel forever.
1. In your carry-on, keep a change of clothes and toiletries.
You never know when your luggage will be lost or delayed, and the last thing you want to do in a new city is go out and buy underwear.
2. Learn how to pack like a pro
There have been a few claims to fame in the never-ending packing debate, but a combination of rolling (delicate, wrinkle-prone items) and folding (jeans, etc.) results in a pro packing approach. Better yet, bring wrinkle-free clothing. Even better, never buy clothes that need to be ironed!
3. Before you go, do some food research.
If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy local cuisine! If you do some research before your trip, you will invariably find vegetarian versions of famous local dishes, or in the worst-case scenario, go crazy in the sweets section!
4. Have a bigger budget than you do.
You're bound to go over budget if you go overseas and have a great time. If you don't spend more than your budget, you're probably not having as much fun as you could (splurge a little!) So, whenever I budget for a trip, I always have a booster budget (a few hundred dollars above budget) for the fun stuff I might come across and want to say yes to without worrying about finding the funds!
5. Simply ask if you require anything.
Ask a local where the best coffee in town is, ask your receptionist if they have extra bathroom supplies before purchasing them, and ask if you can sample a flavor before purchasing... It's true that if you ask, you'll get!
